Founded by David M. Handy (David M. Handy Events) in 2004, and later joined by his husband Donald, the design duo of Handy & Dallaire Events has been setting the scene for weddings, events, and fundraisers for over a decade.

H&D Events has been featured in top publications such as Vogue, House Beautiful, Veranda, Grace Ormonde Wedding Style, Southern New England Weddings, Boston Weddings and Bliss Celebrations. Known for discerning taste and sophisticated style, their work has been featured in many wedding blogs including Over the Moon, The Knot, Style Me Pretty, Wedding Wire and Well Wed.

CEO, Creative Director

David M. Handy is an award-winning event designer and lifestyle expert with over 20 years of experience creating unforgettable events around the globe. David brings a uniquely curated style to each event, and is well-known for having an affable demeanor and “intuitive approach” when collaborating with his clients. From non-profit fundraisers and corporate galas…to high-profile weddings and social soirées…David is passionate about creating the most exquisite and memorable occasion for every guest.

David is endlessly inspired by traveling and discovering the world with his husband Donald. He equally loves returning to his homes in Boston and Nantucket to reunite with their adorable pup, Nigel Stanley Tucci.

Donald J. Dallaire

COO, Lead Producer & Designer

After living in NYC to pursue a career on Broadway – life had other plans! Donald fell in love. First, with the magical island of Nantucket, where Donald accepted a role as Director of Special Events and Operations with the Dreamland Theater. Then, with David Handy.

In 2018, Donald decided to partner with David in business too, and now translates his skills and talents in event production, operations and design to H&D. After all, every event is a production!

Donald is still inspired by live theater and his latest personal production with David, renovating their historic Boston home.

Sara Szogas

Event Manager

Growing up on the Connecticut shoreline, Sara has considered Nantucket her happy place for many summers. After graduating from Eastern Connecticut State University, she found her passion in luxury events. She has devoted the last few years to traveling the world and creating unforgettable experiences for her clients. Sara now has the pleasure to pursue her passion for creating one of a kind events on her favorite island. 

Sara’s organized nature allows her clients to focus on the excitement around the wedding rather than the logistics. With every event she undertakes, Sara ensures all questions are answered and all expectations are exceeded! She loves the creative aspect of the planning process. There’s magic in the little details at a wedding that truly elevate it from your typical tying of the knot. Finding where to add these special touches in a unique way makes all the difference for the happy couple and their guests. 

Nigel Stanley Tucci

CPP, Chief Party Pup

Nigel brings his unique high-vibe energy to every client meeting.  Nigel prefers a combo of live band and DJ, and if he made the rules – black-tie attire would always be required.

In his free time, Nigel enjoys binge-watching “Stanley Tucci’s Searching for Italy” and meeting friends for sunset picnics at Galley Beach.
